YOU HAVE A KEY ROLE
TO PLAY IN OPENING
THE DOOR TO THE
HOME

Increasingly present across Quebec, palliative care homes offer humane and personalized support to people at the end of life and to their loved ones. To date, the Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine and Norddu-Québec administrative regions are the only two in Quebec without one.

Fortunately, since 2019, many motivated and willing individuals have been continuously involved in opening the Baiedes-Chaleurs Palliative Care Home. It will become the only resource of its kind on the Gaspe Coast.

Aa a result of the rigorous work accomplished so far, the Home’s team is proud to launch its first major fundraising campaign, which will allow it to welcome by 2027 the many people who will face this need.

Every donation is important and will ensure the accessibility and free provision of palliative care to the community.

What is palliative care?

Palliative care is a set of services provided to people with a life-limiting illness. Without hastening or delaying death, the goal of palliative care is to achieve the best possible quality of life for patients and their loved ones and to provide them with the necessary support. They are organized and offered through the collaborative efforts of a caregiving team that involves the patient and their loved ones..

CO-PRESIDENT

Co-founder
Fabrication Delta

I am honored to accept the co-chairmanship of the campaign cabinet, a responsibility that I approach with seriousness and dedication for several essential reasons.

First and foremost, I want all residents who may one day benefit from the services of the Palliative Care Home to participate according to their abilities and thus become co-owners of this noble institution. Having personally accompanied loved ones during their final moments on several occasions, I deeply understand the value of this project. A close friend, without religious convictions, told me before his departure that, during those critical moments, he often wondered if he had been good and generous to his contemporaries. These authentic exchanges have strongly influenced my own decisions and actions.

Furthermore, at Fabrication Delta, we are convinced of the necessity for our region to be equipped with such an infrastructure. We are committed to being a model corporate citizen by deploying significant efforts that we hope will serve as a catalyst for the entire community.

Mouvement Desjardins

The Baie-des-Chaleurs Palliative Care Home fills a crucial gap on the Gaspe Coast. This project resonates with me personally as I had to face the death of a loved one in the region a few years ago who could have benefited from end-of-life care at the level that the Palliative Care Home offers. This is why I am so proud to act as the co-chair of this major fundraising campaign and thus participate in creating a welcoming and secure space for people at the end of life and their families.

The Baie-des-Chaleurs Palliative Care Home will be a sanctuary of peace, under the diligent care of qualified professionals and empathetic volunteers. Desjardins’ involvement in this project is natural, reflecting our commitment to the well-being of the communities we serve.

Our connection to the territory and our compassion for people in need inspire us to carry out this project. Let us unite our efforts so that the Baie-des-Chaleurs Palliative Care Home becomes a reality, a refuge for those who need it most.

GENEVIÈVE FORTIER

HONORARY GODMOTHER

CEO
Promutuel Assurance

It is with eagerness and a sense of duty that I engage in this ambitious project aimed at providing our region with its palliative care home. Being extremely attached to my Gaspesian roots, I am delighted to be able to invest in my community and be THERE where it counts. It is therefore with immense pride that I have accepted to act as the honorary godmother of the Baie-des- Chaleurs Palliative Care Home.

This initiative is particularly close to my heart as the Gaspe Coast, like all other regions of Quebec, must be able to offer people at the end of life and their families a humane environment to house them, relieve them, and provide them with the appropriate and personalized care they need for this important chapter of their lives. From near or far, we are all affected.

Gaspesian are known to be people with heart; let us mobilize to create this warm and peaceful environment where we can accompany our loved ones on their final journey.

THANK YOU in advance for your contribution to this wonderful initiative!

COPRÉSIDENT

Cofondateur
Fabrication Delta
